Operation eMotorsport League: Season 12

DID YOU KNOW? The Operation eMotorsport League is entirely run by Operation Motorsport beneficiaries, with light support from Operation Motorsport staff and volunteers.

Veterans’ first experience with Operation Motorsport is often virtual – through the Operation eMotorsport League (iRacing). Some impacted by service aren’t ready to meet others in person but can take steps in recovery online by joining our community there. Some see a social media post by a friend they served with and want to know more. We’re proud this diversionary therapy program meets veterans where they are, every time.

The Operation eMotorsport League has grown exponentially the last few seasons thanks to word-of-mouth advocacy from existing participants and promotion on social media. When you find something that really makes a difference, you have to share it, right?

This year, the Operation eMotorsport League is entering a new chapter with new tracks, new race lengths and more competitors than ever before. Popular multi-class racing has returned and our veterans are ready for the changes!

Season 12 eMotorsports – Entries Snapshot:

61 entries.

43 with a military affiliation, including 35 veterans & 8 active service 30 of the Veterans are Operation Motorsport Beneficiaries.

7 of the Beneficiaries are currently enrolled in Motorsport Immersion.

You can watch the Tuesday races online courtesy of Racespot on Operation Motorsport’s YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@OPERATIONMOTORSPORT

Operation Motorsport Endurance Racing Team

Virtual racing on platforms like iRacing are a way our veteran beneficiaries can check in with each other online. For our Motorsport Immersion participants, it’s also a way to grow relationships they’ve formed with people in the motorsport industry they’ve met at racetracks across the United States and Canada.

A group of former and current Operation Motorsport beneficiaries enjoy it so much they’ve formed an Operation Motorsport Endurance Racing Team, competing in team events in the iRacing Special Events series.

Current participants include Richard Davenport (U.S. Army/Navy); Peter McDade (U.S. Air Force); Taner Masters (U.S. Air Force); Trevell Aych (U.S. Army); Nolan Yuke (U.S. Army); and Joe Thomas. If you are an Operation Motorsport beneficiary and want to know more, contact Richard Davenport.

Congratulations to Peter McDade, Dave Bell, Taner Masters, Trevell Aych & Richard Davenport for finishing p4 in iRacing’s virtual Rolex 24!

Thanks to the virtual element of this event, the Operation Motorsport team (high side) was able to compete with the team from Mission Motorsport, the group that inspired our founding.

Driving the Mission Motorsport car were: Shaun Handy; Chris Liddle; Patrick Nadarzinski; Magnus Danielsson; Linda Noble & Klaad Hartman.

Congratulations all!

Podcast – Episode 2

DID YOU KNOW? The Operation Motorsport Podcast is back! Hosted by Operation Motorsport beneficiaries Peter McDade (U.S. Air Force), Casey Soble (Canadian Air Force) and Richard Davenport (U.S. Army/Navy). You’ll hear plenty of familiar voices and the latest on both our Motorsport Immersion and Diversionary Therapy programs. Check out Ep. 1 online at https://operationmotorsport.org/the-operation-motorsport-podcast/ or on Spotify.

Thank you, CrowdStrike!

CrowdStrike and its employees have long supported our programs for veterans. In December, CrowdStrike employees came together to support our beneficiaries and their families during the holidays through funds for special gifts. Our beneficiaries are so very thankful!

In January, CrowdStrike hosted our veterans who attended the Rolex 24 but were not participating in the Motorsport Immersion program by allowing them to enjoy the racing action in the CrowdStrike suite. Congratulations, CrowdStrike, on your class win in LMP2 with CrowdStrike Racing by APR!

The Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring (IMSA) and SRO GT4 America season-opener in Sonoma, Calif. will be here before we know it. We’ll have new beneficiaries to introduce and teams to welcome. In the meantime, here’s a look back at the IMSA season-opener for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by Michelin and Michelin Pilot Challenge at Daytona International Speedway through the cameras of our Motorsport Immersion veterans.
