Veterans Race of Remembrance Returns to VIR, November 5–8, 2026

Operation Motorsport announces 2nd Annual Veterans Race of Remembrance 2026

Greetings!

Veterans Race of Remembrance Returns to VIR, November 5–8, 2026

Expanded endurance format and prototype classes build on a powerful inaugural year

Raleigh, North Carolina — [January 15, 2026] — Following a successful inaugural event in 2025, the Veterans Race of Remembrance (VRoR) will return to VIRginia International Raceway on November 5–8, 2026, continuing its evolution as one of North America’s most meaningful and distinctive endurance racing events.

Building on a Strong Foundation

The 2025 debut established VRoR as far more than a race weekend. Alongside compelling multi-class endurance racing, the event featured a Heroes Dinner, a formal trackside Remembrance Service, and the deep integration of veterans in operational, technical, and competitive roles throughout the paddock. The result was a credible proof point that motorsport can honor service while actively supporting recovery and reintegration.

What’s New for 2026

  • Endurance race extended to eight hours, enabling deeper strategy, increased driver lineups, and greater team participation

  • Expanded class structure, including the addition of a prototype class(es) including Sebeco NP01 and Radical prototype platforms, elevating the depth of the field.

These enhancements reflect growing interest from professional teams and partners, and a commitment to making VRoR a durable, annual fixture. “The first year at VIR confirmed that this event has both meaning and momentum,” said Diezel Lodder, Chairman and Co-Founder of Operation Motorsport. “In 2026, our focus is on building something durable—stronger racing, broader participation, and an even greater opportunity for veterans to contribute in real, mission-driven roles. Extending the race and expanding the classes allows us to do exactly that.”

Motorsport with Meaning

While inspired by a long-standing tradition of remembrance through motorsport, the Veterans Race of Remembrance has quickly established its own identity—rooted in North American racing culture and Operation Motorsport’s core belief that Team, Identity, and Purpose are essential to recovery.

All proceeds from the Veterans Race of Remembrance support Operation Motorsport, a veteran-led and operated 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving medically retired and injured service members across the United States and Canada through immersive motorsport opportunities.

Additional details regarding final race format, class structures, support series, and participation opportunities will be announced in the months ahead.
