About Race of Remembrance
The Event (4th Annual Race of Remembrance)
Returning to the wonderful Anglesey circuit for the fourth year, the 2017 Race of Remembrance commemorates the sacrifices made by service personnel and their families. This unique endurance race features a Heroes dinner, night racing, and a trackside service of Remembrance.In true Mission Motorsport style, the weekend is about more than just the racing. The off track action means a great social weekend at the end of the season, while on track there is a unique interruption to an endurance motorsport event. At 10.45 on Sunday morning, the track will fall silent as the race pauses to hold a service of Remembrance.
The Venue (Anglesey Circuit Tracmon)
Motor sport contributes over £6 billion to the British economy, it is also contributing significantly towards improving environmental issues, and Anglesey Circuit was the first circuit to commit to the British government’s Energy Efficient Motor Sport initiative.
In January 2009, the circuit was honoured to receive the top prize in the Tourism and the Environment category at the Anglesey Tourism Awards. Each year at Anglesey Circuit includes many aspects of motor circuit usage, from manufacturers developing efficiency and reliability and alternative power sources to our spectator events listed in this brochure which include motorcycle races, car races, stage rallies and sprints.
The Hosts (Mission Motorsport UK)
Mission Motorsport is run by veterans, serving officers and motorsport professionals. We are appointed as the Combined Services’ official providers of adaptive motorsport, seeking wherever possible to merge the activities of the disabled and those in need with able bodied servicemen and women.Appointed by the British Army Motorsport Association, and operating in direct support of the Defence Recovery Capability, Mission Motorsport provides respite, rehabilitation, vocational support and training to those affected by military operations within the framework of Motorsport.
