OPERATION MOTORSPORT CONFIRMS ENTRY IN THE 2024 RACE OF REMEMBRANCE & LAUNCHES HONORING HEROES CAMPAIGN

  • Operation Motorsport to enter two Toyota GT86, the No. 22 and No. 220, in the 2024 Race of Remembrance.
  • Fundraising for Race of Remembrance kicks off this week with the Honoring Heroes Campaign. Place a veteran or military service member’s name on the hood for a $22 donation.

Raleigh, NC (June 13, 2024) – Operation Motorsport announced its entry into the 2024 Race of Remembrance (RoR) at Anglesey Circuit, Wales, UK, November 7-10. The event, held over Veteran’s/Remembrance Day weekend, is highlighted by a 12-hour endurance race, heroes’ dinner, and pitlane Remembrance Ceremony on Sunday morning. Operation Motorsport will have two entries at the event that brings together beneficiaries across the SRO, IMSA, and FEL Motorsport paddocks. This year will mark the 10th running of Race of Remembrance and Operation Motorsport’s 6th participation in the annual Mission Motorsport endurance racing event.

“I can’t believe that we will be heading over for the 6th time to the Race of Remembrance, it’s incredible!”, said Tiffany Lodder, Executive Director, Operation Motorsport, “Operation Motorsport has had strong growth over the years, and I will always look at this event as the culmination of a years’ hard work done by the beneficiaries. They get to showcase what they’ve learned on an international stage, and the ability for them to come together as the Operation Motorsport team is such a unique gift.”

Last year, Operation Motorsport fielded two Toyota GT86 entries in the 2023 Race of Remembrance with a 3rd in class podium finish for the US entry. This year OpMo is planning to field the same 2 Toyota GT86 entries in their traditional OpMo patriotic liveries and the team is planning to include 12 beneficiary crew members, 10 volunteers and 8 drivers from both the U.S. and Canada.

Operation Motorsport is also thrilled to announce that alongside their strategic CrowdStrike partnership, Michelin will once again be the team’s official tire sponsor and Mobil 1 is providing all of the team’s lubricants.

Operation Motorsport will launch the 2024 Honoring Heroes Campaign this week. The campaign helps raise funds to send the Operation Motorsport beneficiary team to Wales for RoR. Each of the two entries will carry the names of military members and veterans on the hood as part of the 2024 RoR livery. For a $22 tax-deductible donation, supporters can submit a name, and Operation Motorsport will honor their service by including it on either the No. 22 or No. 220.

“The Honoring Heroes campaign is a win-win.” Lodder continued, “For every $22 donation, you can choose a person you wish to honor, and we’ll carry your hero’s name on the Operation Motorsport cars. These funds go directly to traveling our Operation Motorsport beneficiaries to Wales for the Race of Remembrance. Internally, we raise the funds to have all Operation Motorsport beneficiaries’ names on the hoods so they’re there with us in spirit if not physically.”
